What To Bring
We've been doing this a while
Although we can’t claim to know everything, after more than 60 years in operation, we’ve gotten a good handle on what you will need to make your stay both memorable and comfortable. We’ve put together a list of suggestions of things you may need, might appreciate, or downright must have when enjoying a vacation on our wild, remote lake.
The Essentials
Rain Gear – Jacket, pants, and boots or waterproof shoes
Passport and ID – For crossing the border and purchasing fishing licenses/alcohol
Clothing for all temperatures – The weather can be fickle, be prepared for anything
Sunscreen or UV protective clothing -SPF 30 or higher is recommended as most guests spend the whole day outside
Sunglasses – We highly recommend polarized lenses
Fishing Gear – Rod, reel, and tackle. If you do not have your own gear, we have a limited amount of loaner equipment available. Guests are responsible for the cost of replacing broken rod tips.
We also suggest
Camera – Capture those memories!
Swim Suits – Swim off the dock or shore
Cooler (if bringing fish home) -1 cooler for each vehicle travelling home with fish
Reading Material – For the evenings or those days you’d rather just relax
Refillable Water Bottles – We treat our water to better than health department standards
Extras
Alcohol – We do not have a liquor license. Alcohol can be purchased at the LCBO in Rainy River or Fort Frances, and limited amounts can be brought from across the border.
Games – Bring your favorite board, card or lawn games! We have a small selection available at the lodge for you to borrow as well.
